The sun has set on day 2 of my quest and I look forward to the rest of the journey with optimism, its going to be easy peasy (yes yes, very early days...check in on me on day 200 and maybe I will be eating my words) I'm sitting down with a cuppa, eating delicious fejoas from a friends tree, and once again flicking through "The life changing magic of tiding" by Marie Kondo. When I first laid eyes on the book I almost broke into hysteria, however I was intrigued. Marie Kondo is a Japanese expert in decluttering and organizing the home & the key to her method is only keeping objects that spark true joy. She shows how decluttering your home also declutters your mind, by showing true appreciation of everything you choose to keep helps you to truly appreciate your life (She even thanks her coffee cup every morning for its service) I must say the read was addictive and afterwards I donated 8 rubbish sacks of household items & clothing that no longer sparked joy and it felt dam good. Please don't tell Marie but my pristine, clutter free home didn't last long. Why? I ask myself the same question because Ms Marie was very persuasive in her method. I think it could be pretty simple, I need to ask if an object truly sparks joy before it enters my home or if its truly needed. Its changing a mindset and realizing that letting go is far more important than adding. Its simple, no need to declutter if you don't have it in the first place.
If your interested in reading "The life changing magic of tidying" by Marie Kondo let me know and I can lend it to you, I can't really encourage you to go out and buy it brand new now can I.
Thanks so much for following & have a wonderful weekend xx
