Wow almost 5 months into my new brand new journey and you deserve a well overdue update. It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing but now that our 20 month old has decided not to give us anymore health scares and our reno's our very very close to complete, I have a new spring in my step and renewed motivation to not fall off my "no brand new" train.
So how have I gone? or should I say we? Our toddler has no choice in the matter and my husband has participated "mostly" apart from buying new for himself on occasion. Oh and bringing a brand new bike home for Charlie the other night after his prior failed trade me purchase and Charlies dissatisfaction at the size and instability of his new/not new bike. What makes me feel less disgruntled at my husband and better about his brand new bike purchase is the company in which it was purchased from. Wishbone Design was created by two dreaming Kiwis living in New York who wanted their children to grow up with the freedom and space that they both had. Their bikes transform a child's experience, reduce consumption, and deliver a positive environmental outcome. Wishbone bikes change how a child learns to ride for the better, enabling confidence and freedom. In a single purchase, it replaces multiple products that we have already or may have bought, broken and thrown away between ages 1 to 5. And this is the philosophy that I can safely preach about written by the wishbone creators them selves "Maybe – just maybe – you’ll resist the temptation to ‘buy more stuff’ because what you’ve already got
is great". Thank you wishbone for not making me feel I have to justify this "brand new" purchase, as when its from a local company like yours, a product like yours, with a vision like yours, its totally worth it!! Oh and did i mention that they now have a recycled bike that is made from recycled carpet? How cool is that!! http://www.wishbonedesign.com/
